I forgot to mention that the A-Division Finals of the Mixed Doubles Tournament took place last Sunday.
Lisette and Russell Neale won their third STC A division mixed doubles title in five years with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Julie Blau and Scott Zenack. Lisette and Russell jumped out to early leads in both sets – 3-0 and 4-1 respectively – but Julie and Scott were able to battle back to four-all in both sets. Lisette and Russell were too solid down the stretch in both sets and came away with the title.
Congratulations, Champs!
The B+ and B Division finals have yet to take place.
