Congratulations to Len Travers and John Schatzel for winning the STC Doubles Tournament in the B Division. Len and John prevailed over last year’s winners, Ken Potter and Ben Cooley, in a hard fought Finals match. After going down in the first set 0-3, Len stepped up his attack at net and turned the match around – leading Len and John to a 1st set comeback, 7-5, before finishing off the 2nd set, 6-2.
In an absolutely incredible 3 hour, 2 tie break match, Allen & Steve Davis battled Scott Zenack & Bob Di Cara. The weather was warm at the beginning of the match and downright hot at the end. So was the level of play.In the end, former Doubles Champions Zenack and Di Cara were able to hold off our recent A – B Champions in a 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 win.
A special note of thanks to Gordie Sands and Scott Zenack. Everyone really appreciated their excellent communication during the event, lovely snacks and all the extra hard work it takes to volunteer at STC.
Time to start thinking about our last STC Tournament of the Summer! Due to popular demand, our STC Singles Tournament will be held AFTER Labor Day this year!!! The events spans 2 weekends and will be held:

September 10th & 11th – Early Rounds & Quarter Finals
September 17th & 18th – Semi Finals and Finals
